Money that
tracks itself

Say it, snap it, or let your bank messages do the work. Obol turns everyday spending into a clear picture of where your money actually goes — and keeps every number on your side of the glass.

About

Every expense, without the admin

Most budgeting apps fail for the same reason: logging is work, so people stop. Obol removes the work. An expense takes a sentence, a photo of a receipt, or nothing at all when your bank has already texted you about it.

What is left is the part that actually helps — budgets that hold, bills you can see coming, and a straight answer when you ask where the money went.

Nothing is read until you say so

The Obol new-transaction form: expense, income or transfer, an amount in EGP, category chips, account, merchant, payment method, notes, date and an attach-receipt button.

Capture

Three ways in. None of them tedious.

Whichever way an expense arrives, it lands in the same ledger — categorised, converted to your currency, and yours to correct.

Say it

Hold the mic and speak: “two hundred on groceries.” Obol parses the amount, merchant and category — in English or Arabic, including Arabic-Indic digits.

Snap it

Photograph a receipt or an invoice. The total, the merchant and the date come back filled in, and nothing is saved until you confirm it.

Hand it a bank message

Paste an alert, or set up an Apple Shortcut once and your bank messages reach Obol on their own. Either way the message is read on your device — Obol keeps the amount, merchant and card last-4, and never the text.

Intelligence

Ask your money a question

Obol reads your own ledger and answers in plain language. Not a chatbot bolted onto a spreadsheet — every answer is grounded in the transactions you actually logged, and it will tell you when it doesn't know.

Ask Obol

“What did I spend on dining this month?” — answered from your data.

Weekly insights

Spend by day, weekday versus weekend, and the hours you spend most.

Any currency

Log in one currency, read your totals in another. Rates are shown, not hidden.

Budgets that hold

Overall and per-category, showing what is left rather than what is spent.

Obol insights: weekly spend versus last week, a spending-by-day bar chart, top category, and a breakdown of when you spend most.

The app

Built to be read at a glance

Real screens from the app — figures first, chrome second, and the same layout in light or dark and in right-to-left.

The Obol transactions list, grouped by date, each row showing merchant, category icon and amount.
Obol budgets: an overall monthly budget plus per-category budgets for shopping, dining and transport, each with a progress bar and the amount left.
The Obol buckets screen, splitting a monthly budget into named spending pots.
Ask Obol, the in-app assistant answering a question about spending using the user’s own data.

Privacy

Private by design, not by promise

Financial data is the most revealing data most people own. Obol is built so that the inconvenient answer — “we never collected it” — is the true one.

Messages read on your device

A bank message is parsed on your phone, never uploaded. Only the amount, merchant and card last-4 are kept — never the text, and never an OTP, password or full card number.

No audio kept

The microphone runs only while you hold it. Speech becomes text via your own device’s recogniser, and the audio is never recorded or uploaded by us.

Locked to you

Every row is protected by row-level security, so a record is reachable only by its owner. Your session lives in the device keychain, behind Face ID if you want it.

Never sold, never advertised

No ad networks, no data brokers, no tracking across other apps or websites. There is no version of Obol that makes money from your spending history.

Export anything

Take everything with you as JSON whenever you like — profile, transactions, budgets, the lot.

Leave completely

Deleting your account removes the account itself and cascades through every record we hold. No thirty-day shadow copy.
